The famous Torre Vicentina, standing proudly in the central plaza, welcomes visitors to San Vicente. Climbing to the top of the tower is worthwhile for sweeping views of the city and the breathtaking Chinchontepec volcano.

Sample the town's artisanal sweets made from yams, coconut, tamarind, nance, cashew, and other natural ingredients. Visit the mills to watch the traditional sugar cane processing to make dulce de panela, a delicious unrefined sugar loaf.

Architecture enthusiasts will appreciate the historic Basilica de Nuestra Señora del Pilar, dating back to 1762. Across from the colonial-style Cathedral is the central park and the Municipal Palace built in 1950.

Laguna de Apastepeque is San Vicente's natural gem. Take a motorboat ride on this volcanic lake or enjoy a meal by its refreshing waters.
