Apastepeque: San Vicente
This park sits within a volcanic crater. The vegetation around the water's edge is a subtropical rainforest that transitions into tropical forest. The park is one of El Salvador's main wildlife zones, spreading over the volcanic chain into the coastal plains.
The recreational area includes space for picnics, a swimming pool and restaurant, trails, a picnic area, and cabins. For visitors wanting to admire the scenery and calm waters, the park features a scenic boardwalk and floating pier over the glassy surface.
Laguna de Apastepeque is home to trees including the towering ceiba, royal cedars, poplars, pacún, bay laurels, ficus, madrecacao, olive, conacaste, snakewood, river almond, and others.
