Izalco: Sonsonate Este
Atecozol in Izalco, Sonsonate, provides visitors with two natural pools - one for adults and one for children - alongside a picnic area, restaurant, cabins, a soccer field, and a Mayan ball court. A distinctive feature here is the temazcal - a traditional sweat lodge - for connecting with ancient traditions.
Particularly noteworthy at Atecozol is its impressive collection of cultural artifacts featuring works by the Salvadoran sculptor Valentín Estrada, depicting characters and legends such as the Cuyancúat, Atonal, Cacique de Acajutla, Rain God Tlaloc, and others.
