MIGRATORY REQUIREMENTS

Notice on requirements for negative PCR test for passengers entering El Salvador

It is important that all visitors verify the necessary immigration requirements to enter El Salvador before starting their trip to avoid mishaps or unwanted episodes. As a rule already known by all, it is important that the passport of each one has a minimum validity of 6 months.

The citizens of some countries do not require visa to enter El Salvador for a visit that does not exceed a period of 90 days or travel in transit: See details

Some visa exempt nationalities may require a MIGRANT ENTRY CARD, which is purchased at the border entry points and costs US$10 or US$12

If your country is not listed then you will need to apply for a Consular Visa at one of El Salvador’s diplomatic representations abroad or a Consulted Visa to be obtained through El Salvador’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Therefore it is highly recommended that you check the website of the General Directorate of Immigration and Foreigners.

Additionally, all migrants must take into consideration the following:

a) The maximum time of stay that can be granted as a tourist is 90 days. If an extension is required, one may be requested during the year.

b) All countries in South America and Africa, as well as Panama, require for entry that the visitor has been vaccinated against yellow fever 15 days prior to his trip to El Salvador and must carry the certificate or card of such vaccine as it may be requested by the health authorities of El Salvador at the point of entry to the territory.

ARRIVAL AT EL SALVADOR AIRPORT

Duly identified representatives of the organizing staff in El Salvador will be waiting for them inside the airport, so it is important that when they get off the plane they are pending to identify them.

It is recommended that all international visitors bring with them tickets in nomination of $ 5.00 and $ 10.00 American dollars for the payment of the trolley for the handling of luggage inside the airport.

MIGRATION AND CUSTOMS

IMMIGRATION

Each participant will be received at the airport by a duly identified representative of the El Salvador staff who will guide them throughout the migration and customs procedure in El Salvador.
If the participant had sent unaccompanied luggage, it will arrive at the airport’s cargo terminal. The recovery of this will be carried out in a coordinated and guided manner by a representative of the El Salvador staff.
All cargo luggage in El Salvador will be given diplomatic treatment so it is necessary that the cargo (surfboards) be consigned as indicated: Participant’s name / SURF CITY EL SALVADOR – ALAS

CUSTOMS

Those who enter the country with their surfboard checked as luggage must make sure with the airline that it is checked to the final destination: El Salvador.

Each participant will be responsible for hiring the transportation service within the national territory.

The transfers of activities included in the agenda during the days of the championship are contemplated in the organization of the tournament. Therefore, we request punctuality and attention in the final agenda that will be provided to you on your arrival.

Other general information to consider:

If any national or foreign participant wants to leave on their own, it is recommended that they use the taxi or Uber service that can be contacted through the reception at your hotel.

In El Salvador, taxis do not have meters and therefore the fare must be negotiated by the visitor before using the service.

The Uber franchise provides service in El Salvador and can be used by downloading the application to your mobile phones.
