This small and beautiful city located among mountains and lakes has become one of the most valuable destinations due to its colonial-style architecture throughout the city, with its cobbled streets and very well-preserved historical buildings.
Known as Ciudad Morena its historic center is one of the best-preserved in Central America. On the way, you can learn about ancient history by stopping at the Joya de Cerén and San André's archaeological sites and at nearby Tazumal and Casa Blanca.
