If your thing is the outdoors and trees, the Chaguantique Forest is perfect for you to visit.
Not only is this place one of the protected areas of El Salvador, but it´s filled with trees 50 to 60 meters high, home to the Spider Monkey, a species that has only four toes on each leg and was at a certain time in danger of extinction.
Chaguantique, which means "place of beautiful springs" in the indigenist Nahuat language. A name that suits the place and not by coincidence. This forest has many springs that flow right from the ground and a series of ponds which serves for the harvest of freshwater shrimp and tilapia that help local consumption and economic growth in the area.
