geo East Zone: San Miguel

Its perfect cone and active state, makes the San Miguel or Chaparrastique volcano one of the most difficult challenges for those who love adrenaline.

This is the third highest volcano in the country where its inclination of almost 45 °and its sandy slopes make climbing it a difficult and addictive challenge for adrenaline lovers.

As climbers advance the weather changes from hot at the foot to temperate at the summit. Wear comfortable clothing, sunglasses, sunscreen, a cap and suitable footwear. In addition, bring enough water, and a head lamp, since it can get dark during the descent, and a loop to support you on difficult sections.

But if your physical condition does not allow you to climb it you can hike to enjoy the exuberant vegetation and fauna of the volcano
