Antiguo Cuscatlán
geo Central Zone: La Libertad

Despite being a relatively new city, Antiguo Cuscatlán has become a highly visited tourist destination due to its boom in modern infrastructure, malls, and high-value vertical residential centers.

Shoppers will appreciate its modern and sizeable malls where renowned brands are a real attraction for tourists. In addition, they have a semi-open infrastructure that allows to have a pleasant walk in the open while shopping.

High end hotels are also housed in this municipality, a city recommended for express or business trips.
In addition, the area is a destination for traditional Salvadoran cuisine where visitors can taste delicious dishes such as pupusas and others made out of corn, in small local restaurants.

Although the pupusa is not original from this destination, its commercialization has spread massively throughout the municipality, being an almost mandatory stop for any visitor who wants to taste a traditional Salvadoran cuisine. This economic dynamic will allow you to learn about the daily life of Salvadorans in depth.

Every year this emerging city is filled with a lot of color when celebrating the patron saint festivities of its municipality in honor of the Massacre of the Innocents, which has been celebrated since the 10th century. This event takes place from December 26 to 28 as the main dates, but throughout the month there are religious, and cultural activities, parades, carnivals, lights, as well as popular dances, a magnet for national and international tourists.
