At 1,260 meters above sea level, surrounded by striking hills full of vegetation and prominent coffee plantations, in Ataco you can enjoy an unforgettable ecotourism experience, as it has spectacular gardens, hot spring pools and waterfalls.

If you are a coffee lover, you will surely like the Coffee Tour, an activity offered in the neighboring farms. You can also visit the artisan looms, go to the viewpoint of Cerro de La Cruz, visit the plastic arts workshops, walk through its streets to observe the colorful murals and visit the church.

The city offers gourmet and traditional cuisine at the gastronomic festivals, especially on weekends. Although any day is perfect to visit the city, because the central park has shops and restaurants in the surroundings.

One of its most relevant traditions is the celebration of the Day of the Lanterns, which has been alive for more than 200 years. Every September 7 the streets are lit up to celebrate the eve of the birth of the Virgin Mary.
