JOCOAITIQUE

JOCOAITIQUE / Morazán
It is known as the "City of Los Portales" for its wide outside corridors in front of the main houses of the village.

The original name of this town is Yucuaytique, in the Potón language that means "Hill in the village of fire." Like most villages in northern Morazan that were devastated product of the civil war of the eighties, Jocoaitique was no exception and what was once a flourishing trade town became a ghost place.

But his enterprising people have repopulated and has again given life to the eternal city of portals.
